Mar 20, 2008 - I wish they would find a cure to overeating.

knnyphph Says:

Mar 20, 2008 - All I could think of was how the heck they got people to willingly swallow balloons with tubing attached. *Gags*

swisherman84 Says:

Mar 20, 2008 - Ok, 1st off...WHO IN THIER RIGHT MIND WOULD SWALLOW A WATER BALLOON?!?!?!?!?!? These Chinese/Japanese folk are kinda queer with thier studies...I'm glad I'm not a guinea pig for them.

KonnichiwaX Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - How can you say this? even though it was kind of logical that some people that overeat dosn't recieve fullness signals, it's amazing they can prove it. You might not think so, but this may be evolution in finding new ways to make people NOT overeat

HiAdrian Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - Sounds reasonable. I've been slim my whole life, probably genetically and have always had a hard time eating as much as is commonly served as my "fullness reflex" kicks in quite early. To adapt a bit, i had to learn to keep eating while feeling full already, and indeed you can get used to it and physically eat lots more than your feeling would've had you assume. So i can imagine it's equally hard for others to mentally stop the joyous act of eating, when your feeling doesn't support that notion.

Mar 21, 2008 - Are you 8 years old or retarded? Or a retarded 8 year-old?

TheBlindWatchmaker Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - I always heard that the stomach of fatter people tends to be bigger and needs more food to fill up. Does anyone know if this is true and how they accounted for this variable?

jokertim777 Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - I'm not sure I would want a doctor who uses the term "guts" to describe my digestive system.

DioXin Says:

Mar 21, 2008 - just give them cups of water to drink.why shoving plastic tubes down there throut wtf.

tehSrewolf Says:

Mar 22, 2008 - Dioxin you idiot, if you listen it says "to simulate how food expands the stomach".

westindianwawa Says:

Aug 19, 2008 - Overeating doesn't always make you overweight either. I am actually underweight and still overeat TERRIBLY! ... So dis research needs to be expanded.

lostinmaya Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - I think overeating is also a result of - lack of nutrients in the foods - additives that stimulate a person to eat - veg oils that cause insulin resistancePeople are eating a lot but that doesn't mean they are absorbing the nutrients."junk foods" make it possible for people to starve with a full stomach. Its bizarre.

cherylab30 Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - This is a smaller part of a larger issue. Most overweight people that I know - including myself - have gained most of their weight from eating when they are NOT hungry. Were I a scientist, I would attempt to figure out why some people are SATISFIED, not necessary FULL with a standared portion. You don't eat a whole gallon of ice cream because you're hungry.

FortuneFantastica Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - cherylab made a good point. Why do some of us eat when we're not hungry, and why does it take more to satisfy us? The larger issue, in my experience with Binge Eating Disorder, is emotional eating - a way to cope with emotional stress. If we pay attention to our body's signals, we really do know when we feel full, or I should say satisfied. But we keep eating because something else needs to be satisfied, not our stomachs.
